What is anxiety?


Anxiety is a normal reaction, it is part of the fight or flight response you experience when you feel threatened or stressed. Some anxiety, experienced only occasionally, is perfectly normal and is designed to ultimately protect us.

But Generalised Anxiety Disorder results in constant tense, worried and anxious feelings. It’s what we commonly refer to as “suffering from anxiety”. 
Often our clients describe having had this kind of “anxiety” for months or even years. It affects every aspect of their lives and stops them from doing things they used to be able to do, it impacts on their relationships and has generally “taken over” their entire lives. Often clients report physical symptoms too e.g. heart palpitations, panic attacks, breathing issues, etc.

Most importantly, I know that Generalised Anxiety Disorder is not something that you simply have to “learn to manage” or “learn to cope with”. It can be completely eradicated, permanently. My clients are living proof that this is the case.
